Quality Inspector

CASP Aerospace is looking to hire a Quality Inspector. This permanent and full-time position is located in our main facility in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. We offer a flexible work schedule, based on a 40-hour, 5-day week. Additional time may be required on occasion.

For over 50 years, CASP Aerospace has been specializing in the repair, overhaul, exchange and sale of aircraft safety and life support equipment.

Job description:

The successful candidate will be expected to perform mechanical and visual inspection of a wide variety of components and parts for conformance to specifications, utilizing various inspection checklists, inspection equipment, regulations and standards.

Main tasks associated with this position:

  • Conduct final inspections, recording results and complete QC documents.
  • Inspect materials and products throughout various processes and identify proper fits, alignments and condition of components using various technical data and a wide range of measuring instruments, inspection test equipment and hydraulic rigs & fixtures.
  • Test and measure components/assemblies for functioning, operation, accuracy, to verify specifications.
  • Generate and submit NCRs including all applicable data when rejection occurs.
  • Act as technical resources for technicians and supervisors.
  • Support the quality assurance department in the development, promotion and compliance of procedures and policies.
  • Check the compliance of the technical documentation used by the various stakeholders during certification.

Requirements for this position:

  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • DEC in aeronautics or equivalent experience
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in the aviation industry
  • Relevant experience in quality control
  • Good understanding of English (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100D
  • Sense of organization and planning
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Competent in using a wide range of measuring instruments, and test equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals and Engineering documentation
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Previous experience as an Authorized Company Representative / Shop Certification Authority
  • Competent decision-making skills
  • Available to work overtime as required

Salary commensurate with experience.

A group insurance plan is in effect and the employee is eligible after 3 months of seniority.  A pension plan is also in effect and the employee is eligible after 1 year of seniority.
