EASA Certification

On July 12th, 2024, Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) signed an amendment to the Maintenance Annex Guide (MAG), which replaces the previous version dated November 6, 2018.

Under this new amendment, Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) that only handle components, no longer require EASA approval or a separate supplement. Instead, EASA and TCCA will now recognize each other’s certifications for aeronautical products (excluding aircraft), allowing reciprocal acceptance of maintenance release forms (EASA Form 1 and TCCA Form One). This means that an EASA Form 1 will be fully recognized in Canada without additional requirements, and the TCCA Form One will be equally accepted in the EU without needing further statements or EASA approval.

Moving forward, CASP Aerospace will issue the TCCA Form One as our standard release certificate, eliminating the need for dual-release EASA certificates that include an EASA approval number in Block 12. Under the revised MAG, the TCCA Form One is fully recognized within the EU and meets the requirements for customers operating under EASA oversight.
